Do you really believe the illusion that you exist by yourself, and are a separate being in the universe?
So many people think that they are self-made and their path to success was down to them and them alone. In order to maintain this illusion we have to forget the woman who gave birth to us, the people who raised us, the people who taught us…both by their good examples and bad. We have to forget those who loved us...and those who didn’t. We have to bury the memories of the animals, trees, plants, and rocks that shared their essence with us when we needed it, whether they wanted to or not. We cannot even try to understand the unknown forces that participated at levels beyond our comprehension. We have to ignore those who made our clothes, built our houses, grew our food, and prepared it so that we can move to self-actualisation. It is only in knowing our dependence, independence, counter-dependence, interdependence, and interbeing that we can balance ourselves.
Today, how about acknowledging those who have contributed to your somethingness?
