The latest wave of extinct species is a result of what scientists call the Holocene extinction or Sixth Mass Extinction and is one of the most significant extinction events in the history of the Earth. It is mainly due to human activity. It's not a problem that will be solved overnight. It has taken decades, even centuries, to bring us to the crisis point we’re now at. It will also take decades to bring the thousands of threatened species back to health. If we all don't start taking action and working together to solve the crisis, you, and the species you care about lose. It’s important to start acting now. So many species are at risk that if we don’t start turning things around straight away, it will be game over before we know it, for us as well as the other animals.
